Blagojevich-Know Thy Self

Fortunate for all of us that heartless individuals will self-destruct at the same intensity. Like his kind, they are deluded in the belief that they can act as heartless as they please and there are no consequences. They’ll have a grand life. Unfortunate for him human nature rules! As a therapist and author of Taming Your Inner & Outer Bullies: Confronting Life’s Stressors And Winning, people have little knowledge about the true nature of our human species. They do not know that how your inner bullies treat you, is how they and you will treat others. They are always equal. It is not a matter of pathology, but of character: Governor Spitzer, O.J. Simpson, Martha Stewart, and President Nixon had no clue to their masochistic natures. Heartless individuals will destroy themselves unless saved by their cronies, celebrity awed juries, or the media and it up to all of us to make sure that doesn’t happen. Now this governor has destroyed his career, probably his family, besmirched politics and politicians further, and will end up in prison. Will the heartless learn from this? The answer is no! Their heartless inner bullies won’t let them. They have to be destroyed.

Business bullies at their worst

I have limited knowledge about business, investment, economics, or insurance companies. But I do know a great deal about human nature as a therapist and author. Apparently, without our awareness there have been a vast number of heartless bullies, with equal masochistic natures, in charge of banks and investment companies that didn’t really care about anyone else, certainly not their investors or employees, not even themselves. Lehman Bros. and AIG are destroyed. Merrill Lynch will be gobbled up by Bank of America.  It is extremely difficulty for all of us to have have happier lives when they don’t care how they invest our money. It looks like greed is at the heart of the problem, but these are very smart people, highly educated, they knew the incredible risk they were taking, and they probably listened to their inner bullies to believe that no one will ever be hurt. Who would ever back subprime mortgages, initiated by heartless humans at unscrupulous mortgage companies, where I personally know brokers will do anything to make a sales commission? Since people don’t know about their masochistic natures, they don’t know when they unconsciously don’t deserve happier lives, and when they don’t deserve happier lives, they certainly aren’t interested that our lives should be happier. It is a disaster in the making. Character matters. It always matters! It matters in every area of society. What can we do about it? Obviously governments need to make stringent laws to prevent heartless humans from engaging in risky investments that their investors know nothing about! And those who engage in risky investments without telling their investors need to go to prison for a very long time. When we really look at the world, and its history, far too often it is the heartless bullies that are in control.

Charlie Rangel & his ilk

It is unfortunate that no one is ever taught about character, even if they knew what character was. No one is ever going to teach you that character matters and that all human beings are sado-masochistic, that in fact, we have a bully-victim nature. Our victim nature, for no better term, is best expressed by us being masochistic.  Here is an insight. The bigger the bully we are, the bigger the masochist we will be. In other words if have heartless characters, then there is no degree of self-destruction that we won’t accept and long for. In the case of Charlie Rangel, by understanding his masochistic nature, we can understand his whole nature. It was obvious, that sooner than later, that he would be caught not paying taxes on his rental property as well as his receiving special treatment in attaining 4 rent control apartments.  What else he has possibly done that breaks the law has not surfaced. These serious situations have spoiled his political career and spoiled his personal and political image. Since Charlie Rangel’s inner bullies don’t seem to want him to have a happier life, he just may not have one after all. Normally, his career would be ruined, but in Congress, with so many other politicians so far successfully hiding their sado-masochistic natures, they will not let Charlie fall out of grace. And if his constiuents engage in ‘collective masochism’, and need to be further victimized by him, then he is safe to continue on with his heartless ways of living, like royalty, while his constituency suffers in poverty and despair. Obviously, character matters when electing politicians. And putting heartless characters in office doesn’t really help anyone. Let him self-destruct. That’s what he really wants and that’s what he deserves. If people really want happier lives, let us keep them out of lives!
